A spectacular tapestry of coral that is home to dolphins, marine turtles and up to 500 species of fish, the Mesoamerican Reef is one of the most extraordinary places to snorkel on this planet. And because the Caribbean waters are so unusually warm, you can remain submerged for as long as you like without any risk of getting cold!
Second only to the Great Barrier Reef in size, the Mesoamerican Reef is very much the jewel in this magnificent region’s crown. In fact it was recently identified as one of the top 10 coral reef “Biodiversity Hotspots” in the world – which is why we’re so keen to protect it.
There's only one way to wind down after a truly breathtaking snorkelling session, and that's by chilling out on an untouched sandy beach. We'll take you to one of the region's most beautiful beaches, where you can enjoy lunch in the mid-afternoon sun, or a snooze in the welcome shade of a coconut tree. When you're ready, we'll head back along the Caribbean coast via a winding mangrove canal to the lagoon of Boca Paila, where you can observe tropical birds hunting for fish.
